The makers of everybody's favorite soundproofing product has been acquired by Saint-Gobain.

Saint-Gobain Acquires Soundproofing Plastics Manufacturer

AURORA, Ohio, Oct 13, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (SGPPL) today announced that it has acquired the assets of The Green Glue Company of West Fargo, North Dakota, a privately owned manufacturer of visco-elastic soundproofing technology. Visco-elastic materials combine the properties of viscosity and elasticity to provide performance characteristics ideal for special acoustical insulation. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

From its manufacturing location in West Fargo, Green Glue supplies products to global construction customers specializing in sound control. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics plans to integrate the Green Glue business into its Foams business unit. "We are pleased to welcome The Green Glue Company to Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics," says Tom Kinisky, President of SGPPL. "The Green Glue product line complements our Norseal(R), Normount(R) and Thermalbond(R) product lines which we supply to the commercial and residential construction markets.
