AcoustiRACK™ Cabinet - Power Without The Noise

Published 28th March 2006

Announcing the First Quiet Rackmount Cabinet to Deliver Serious Noise Reduction!...

Acousti Products, a rapidly growing British company has developed a solution to the growing problem of computer noise experienced in many workplaces. After developing several successful product lines for quietening PCs, Acousti Products have turned their attention to the largely neglected issue of powerful but noisy rackmounted computer equipment.

Many people working close to noisy servers are vocal about how stressful the constant noise can be. The high-frequency whirring of cooling fans coupled with the drone of other components, produces a nerve-grating combination guaranteed to drive anyone to distraction. Studies show that working in a noisy office can significantly heighten stress levels and lower staff productivity."

When time is money--lots and lots of it--a quarter-million-dollar SUV conversion from Becker Automotive Design can be worth every penny.

Todd Lappin, Business 2.0 Magazine senior editor

(Business 2.0 Magazine) - Some executives soar with eagles. They're the power brokers who fly in peerless comfort, efficiency, and style on wings made by Gulfstream or Learjet. Yet there's another breed of titans who keep their feet firmly planted on terra firma. These moguls are rich, yes, and their time is also very valuable, but in the course of doing business, they're more likely to shuttle between, say, Long Beach and Burbank than to jet from LAX to JFK. Whether they're real estate developers or fast-food kingpins cruising from one Pizza Hut franchise to the next, they need to be productive on the road."

SPECIAL TO THE STAR HOW IT'S BUILT

In the loft conversion business it's called ghosting, though it has nothing to do with the paranormal.

Ghosting refers to the original painted signs and lettering found on the exterior walls of old factories and warehouses.

Typically faded and broken up, these old signs are a reminder of the original owners and functions of these buildings, and of Toronto's industrial past.

'When we first looked up there, we thought we would sandblast the lettering on the building off, clean it up,' says Lionel Larry, president of Rosebud Homes, one of two developers converting the former R & T Watson Co. building into condominium lofts."

by Erica Bosworth

Acoustical engineering has become increasingly popular over recent years for use in residential homes. In the past this type of engineering has been commonly associated with places in which you might find high levels of noise such as theatres or musical studios. However, even in residential homes it can be difficult to control noise levels, and for many soundproofing is the ideal way to try and resolve noise related problems. "

By Andrea Sudano

Completion of the soundproofing job on Francis Upton's house is still a few weeks off, but the El Segundo resident is already enjoying the benefits in her home a few blocks south of LAX.

'We got a little deaf. It was very noisy,' she said. 'It was hard trying to listen to the television or music. ... (The work) definitely has reduced it by at least 75 percent.'"

Silent treatment: "Silent treatment

By John Hogan
The Grand Rapids Press

Unwanted noise is a foregone conclusion for anyone who's spent time in a college dorm room or roadside motel. It also plagues many long after they've left college and settled into a place of their own, be it an apartment, condominium or home.

After crime, traffic and inadequate public services, noise is the most common neighborhood complaint, according to the U.S. Census."

Man Angry About Slamming Door Killed Neighbor

WFTV.com - News - Police: Man Angry About Slamming Door Killed Neighbor: "BELLEVIEW, Fla. -- It's an unusual motive for murder. Investigators in Belleview said slamming the door drove a man to kill his next-door neighbor in Marion County."

"Investigators believe Betty Shepperd was murdered over something that sounds extremely trivial. They said 45-year-old Vito Loiacono was irritated that Shepperd was slamming the door at night and waking him up."

Ok the lesson here is do not slam your door, because in most cases it pisses your neighbors off. However, killing your neighbor is not the solution.
